Members who submit the name of an organization for consideration should be prepared to make a 5 minute presentation. The presentation should be factual and interesting, but need not be overly formal. You also will be given an additional 5 minutes for Q&A. Do your research and be prepared so that the charity is given proper consideration. If you're not prepared, please submit the charity's name at a later date. |
How to Present
You should be able to comment on matters such as those listed below, and be prepared to answer probing questions.
▶︎ What is the name of the organization and what is its mission?
▶︎ Where is it located, and what areas does it serve?
▶︎ How is the organization run? Does it have a board of directors, staff, volunteers, etc? Is there a paid staff?
▶︎ What services are performed by the organization? Who are its beneficiaries?
▶︎ What is its annual budget, and what are the current sources of funding? How would the funds from 100+Women Who Care of Southwest Florida benefit the organization? Be specific.
▶︎ Consider providing an anecdotal story about individuals who have been impacted by the charity's work.
▶︎ If chosen, to whom should the checks be made payable?

The organization must be a registered 501(c)(3) non profit.
Please keep in mind that a charity will be considered only if it is a local organization serving Southwest Florida. National charities will be eligible only if 100% of our donation monies stay local.
Our goal is to support local charities that often have fewer funding sources, and that have a positive impact on life in Southwest Florida.
